The Cleveland Browns have been granted permission to interview Arizona Cardinals defensive coordinator Todd Bowles for their vacancy at the head coaching position, per Mary Kay Cabot. Bowles has drawn a lot of interest around the league for coaching jobs because of the work that he has done with the Arizona Cardinals defense this season. The Cardinals defensive work has been a big reason for the team’s resurgence. Stability at the quarterback position also is another reason, but Bowles has done a superb job of getting the most of the talent on his roster.

Bowles will be hoping to land the coaching job with the Browns where other options like Patriots OC Josh McDaniels, Seahawks DC Dan Quinn, and Broncos OC Adam Gase have been mentioned as candidates for the job.

If Bowles were brought onto the team as the head coach, he would be able to continue the growth of the Browns defense. The defense has been the strongest part of the team. The Browns will be looking to stabilize the quarterback position in the offseason and that should help whatever head coach that comes to town.
