New York Giants RB Brandon Jacobs has called it quits and announced it over twitter:
“I’ve had an amazing run and I appreciate all of the support from the fans through the good and the bad,” Jacobs said in a statement. “The New York Giants are a great organization and I am proud to have been a part of it for so long.”
Jacobs had a nice run in the league. He has been a power back for the Giants, but had been struggling with some bad knees. He had undergone a knee procedure a month ago.
Jacobs has been a fun back to watch over the years. In his 9 seasons, he has over 5000 yards rushing with 60 touchdowns. The Giants were in desperate need of a running back this season and gave him a call to get some help. Jacobs had spent 8 seasons with the Giants and one bad season with the San Francisco 49ers. He had mainly spent time on the inactive list while with the 49ers.
