Saturday’s playoff games will end with the New Orleans Saints taking on the Philadelphia Eagles. Both teams secured their playoff spot in the final week of the regular season and will be facing off in Philadelphia.
Nick Foles will be leading the charge for the Eagles. He grew up looking up to Drew Brees after attending the same high school in Texas.
“He’s a guy I’ve watched and learned from,” Foles said. “He’s done a lot of great things throughout his career, on and off the field, and he’s a great role model for fellow players, kids and adults.”
Foles will be playing in his first playoff game in his career and will be looking to hand Brees a loss and an early exit. Foles has been terrific as the starter for the Eagles, providing a steady leader for the Eagles on offense. He has kept the turnovers down and has flourished in Chip Kelly’s offense.
The Eagles offense has a lot of potential to light up the scoreboard. LeSean McCoy led the league in rushing and yards from scrimmage this year. He is always a threat to break off a long run. Desean Jackson can burn defenders in a hurry and pick up a ton of yards. The offense is loaded and Foles does a great job of distributing it out to his teammates.
The Saints are no slouch on offense either. With Drew Brees running the show, the Saints can light up the scoreboard as well. He will rely on Jimmy Graham the most on offense, but he will find whoever gets open. He is the best at finding the open man and getting them the football.
Look for both teams to light up the scoreboard.
Prediction:
Dec 29, 2013; Arlington, TX, USA; Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy (25) celebrates while he leaves the field after the game against the Dallas Cowboys at AT
Interesting enough, the Saints have been terrible on the road this season and the Eagles have not been that good at home this year. Not sure how that works out, but that has been how things have gone this year. I expect both teams to light up the scoreboard in the game and I expect the Saints to come out with the victory in the game behind Drew Brees’ playoff experience.
Saints 37 – Eagles 31
