The Detroit Lions have conducted an interview with former Houston Texans head coach Gary Kubiak. He fits the profile that the team has been looking for, but his inability to get the Houston Texans in the playoffs this season has to be a concern. The Texans entered the season as one of the favorites in the league, but the poor play at the quarterback position in Houston is what led to their downfall. They ended up with the worst record in the league.
The Lions have been looking for a head coach with some experience and that is offensive minded. They would like someone to be able to work with Matthew Stafford, Calvin Johnson and Reggie Bush and get the offense to reach it’s full potential.
Jim Caldwell, Ken Whisenhunt and Jay Gruden also are names that have been mentioned as possible head coaching candidates in Detroit. They all fit that offensive minded approach that the team seems to be leaning toward.
Could Kubiak be a good coach for the Lions?
