The Detroit Lions were spurned by Ken Whisnehunt and have gone to their next option and have hired Baltimore Ravens offensive coordinator and former Indianapolis Colts head coach Jim Caldwell, per Adam Schefter. Caldwell will be a steady leader o the team and will also bring discipline to the roster. His ultimate task will be to get the offensive talent on the roster to reach their potential. With players like Matt Stafford, Reggie Bush and Calvin Johnson on of the offensive side of the ball, there is a lot of potential.
The Lions were one of the most talented teams that were looking for a head coach, so the expectations will be high for Caldwell in his first season as the head coach. He comes from the Tony Dungy line of coaching and has championship experience. He should gain the respect of a lot of players on that roster and should be a good influence on the team.
The team was looking for someone with previous head coaching experience and someone with the offensive mind set and they have made their choice. Jim Caldwell will be running the show.
