Green Bay Packers RB Eddie Lacy was named the league’s 2013 Rookie of the Year, voted on by Pro Football Writers of America. Lacy had a phenomenal season with the Packers and helped carry the Packers offense while Aaron Rodgers was on the sideline with an injury. The team had a late playoff run, but it was cut short after losing to the San Francisco 49ers in the wild card round.
Lacy finished the season with 284 carries for 1178 yards and 11 touchdowns. He averaged 4.1 yards per carry on the season.
He has become the featured back for the Packers and will be called upon to carry the load again next season. With Lacy in the backfield, he will be able to take some of the pressure off of Aaron Rodgers on offense and shoulder some of that offensive burden in the running game. Lacy will be a big part of the offense next season and the expectations will be even higher going into next season.
