The Tampa Bay Buccaneers were unable to flip highly-touted Kansas City Chiefs front office worker Chris Ballard, who has plenty of experience working with current Buccaneers head coach Lovie Smith from their days with the Chicago Bears, and they have cast a wide net in their GM search to replace Mark Dominik after losing out on their top candidate.

Pro Football Talk reported that the Buccaneers would hold a second interview with the Atlanta Falcons Lionel Vittal, who is in the same position that David Caldwell occupied before being hired as the Jacksonville Jaguars GM last offseason, but they also reported that Vittal wouldn’t be the only GM candidate to get a callback. Curtis Crabtree mentioned Marc Ross and Lake Dawson- two top GM candidates who have also received interest from the Miami Dolphins- as to other names believed to receive second interviews with the Bucs, and we now know that one of them will indeed be interviewing with the team.

Per a source close to ESPN’s Josina Anderson, Tennessee Titans Vice President of Player Personnel Lake Dawson will receive another interview with the team tomorrow, as opposed to today, and it will be interesting to see if we hear news of a second interview for Ross, who is a top-notch VP of Player Personnel for the New York Giants and flirted with GM openings last year.
