It is the offseason and there will be some big names that will be cut loose and set free onto the open market. New York Jets CB Antonio Cromartie expects to be one of those players released in the offseason because of his poor performance from last year and the big cap number that he has.
“Just because my cap number is very high,” Cro said when asked why he believed he’d be cut. “And I had one of the worst seasons of my career. … I just had a bad year. That falls heavily on me and no one else.”
Cromartie has the potential to be one of the top corners in the league, but he didn’t show that potential last season. He will need to step his game up this coming year.
Cromartie also did say that he would like to finish off his career as a New York Jet. The two sides should be able to figure out a way to work things out and Cromartie will get to play under Rex Ryan for another season in a Jets uniform.
