Former Houston Texans defensive coordinator Wade Phillips is disappointed that he hasn’t received one interview this offseason for coaching positions. He sent out a tweet sharing his disappointment:
Phillips is one of the best defenisve coordinators in the game. You can see from his tweet the type of defense that he could bring to a team, but he still is not getting interviews.
Teams are looking at young up-and-coming candidates and overlooking Phillips and his talent this offseason. His history of leading solid defenses is not even getting a sniff on teams right now. The man knows how to bring pressure on quarterbacks and knows how to get the most of his roster on the defensive side of the football. What else is a man supposed to do?
He will just have to sit back and possibly take a season off. Hopefully next season, some of his friends get hired as a head coach somewhere and he gets another opportunity to lead a solid defense into the playoffs.
If he was talking about head coaching interviews, then that is a different story.
