Denver Broncos offensive coordinator Adam Gase has withdrawn his name as a candidate for the head coaching position for the Cleveland Browns, per Mike Klis. Gase would like to keep focused on the Denver Broncos Super Bowl and keep all the outside distractions away. It shouldn’t come to a surprise that Gase withdrew his name though. Their were rumors earlier in the week that Gase was happy with his position as the Broncos offensive coordinator and might want to stick around with the Broncos for another season.
Gase has a nice gig right now. He has Peyton Manning running his offense and his team just broke a ton of records. They are in the Super Bowl in his first season as an offensive coordinator. He is only 35 years old and should have plenty of opportunities available to him next season.
Gase has chosen to skip interviews until the Broncos were eliminated from the playoffs and the team is still alive. There are not any opportunities left for him, unless he wants to coach the Browns. It doesn’t seem like that is the case. A few candidates have withdrawn their name from the Browns list and Gase doesn’t want to be part of that franchise either.
