The Buffalo Bills have hired former Detroit Lions head coach Jim Schwartz to become their new defensive coordinator, per Mike Rodak. Before Schwartz became a head coach for the Lions, he was the defensive coordinator for the Tennessee Titans and their defense. Schwartz has been successful at running a defenses in the past and will be looking to have success with the Bills defense.

With the Bills defense, he will get to work with Mario Williams and Kiko Alonso and hopefully they will get a few more seasons with Jairus Byrd in the secondary. He will have a few playmakers on the defensive side of the football and will be looking to get the most out of them.

With the Lions, Schwartz was unable to get the full potential out of Matthew Stafford and the offense. With the Bills, he won’t even have to work with a quarterback. His main job will be to fluster opposing quarterbacks. He should be able to make that happen.

The Buffalo Bills just lost defensive coordinator Mike Pettine to the Cleveland Browns and they filled that opening quickly.
