The Cleveland Browns are going to interview Oakland Raiders QB Coach John Defilippo on Thursday for the vacancy at offensive coordinator, per Albert Breer. It must be because the Oakland Raiders have been so good at the quarterback position and the Raiders offense has been amazing [sarcasm]. Why else would you want to bring in Defilippo for the job?

The Browns will also be interviewing Kyle Shanahan for the open position as well. Shanahan was released with the rest of the staff in Washington at the end of the year. He will be interviewing on Wednesday.

Defilippo is familiar with new Browns head coach Mike Pettine. Pettine and Defilippo worked together on the New York Jets staff in 2009. Defilippo was the quarterbacks coach with the Jets during that time.

The Brown will need to find some weapons on offense. They have Josh Gordon and Jordan Cameron on offense and nothing much else. They will need to find a new quarterback to run the team and make some good things happen on offense. Just throw the ball to Gordon all day long. If they don’t get more weapons,  then it doesn’t matter how good the coach is.
