Seattle Seahawks RB Marshawn Lynch has been the talk of the town on media day. He barely was available for the media on the day, but he did make his appearance. He was available for a solid 6 minutes for people to talk to him and then he found some little spot to hide from everyone. He was in attendance long enough for Deion Sanders to get a moment with him and get one of the best interviews on the day. It seemed to be enough for the league also.
“Players are required to participate and he participated,” NFL spokesman Brian McCarthy told Pro Football Talk. “We will continue to monitor the situation.”
Lynch has dodged the media for most of the season, but with the Super Bowl stage set he had to make his appearance for media day. He had to get his face out there or he would be facing a 6 digit fine from the league.
They can monitor the situation all they want. He made his appearance and there are some good sound bites that came from it. Easy on the fines.
Isn’t 6 minutes enough for media day?
