Kickers are people too!
Denver Broncos K Matt Prater is worried for the future of his profession and for the future of kickers in the game of football. There has been talk about eliminating extra points from football already. They already are leaning toward taking away kickoffs from the start of games. Kickers got to kick.
How is Matt Prater supposed to keep a job if there are no more duties for him to do? At least it doesn’t look like they will be eliminating field goals any time soon.
“One day I’m sure they’re going to get kickers out of the game completely in the direction it looks like they are going,” Prater said. “The extra point thing is outside of my control. I don’t mind kicking them. There are some stressful extra points there sometimes, like to tie the game at the end where if you make it they expect you ‘Oh it’s an extra point you should’ve made it,’ but if you miss it everyone is all over you.” – Pro Football Talk
Should extra points be eliminated from the game?
