Denver Broncos WR Wes Welker does not plan on retiring any time soon. Even if the Broncos win the Super Bowl, he plans on getting onto the field next season. It would make that story book ending for the 33 year old wide receiver to ride off with a Super Bowl ring, but he doesn’t want to call it quits yet. He loves playing the game and he is still playing it at a high level:
“Of course it would be a good way to end it, but I am still having fun,” Welker said. “I am still enjoying the game. I feel good, and as long as I am out there having fun, I will continue to play.” – Pro Football Talk
Welker has another year left on his contract with the Broncos. Playing another season with Peyton Manning has to be reason for him to stay. If Peyton is still going to play, then why not continue playing with one of the bests ever. He will get another chance next season to win a Super Bowl with that Broncos team. The team is built to win right now. As long as Peyton is on the team, the team is built to win now.
If you were Wes, would you call it a career?
