In the biggest game of the season, the Denver Broncos were not prepared for the crowd noise in the Super Bowl. Wes Welker feels that the team botched the snap on the first play of the game was because they were not ready for the loud fans at the start of the game, via MMQB:

“That’s the way the start of any Super Bowl is: It’s going to be loud,” Welker said, per MMQB.com. “The fans are going to be yelling. They don’t really know why they’re yelling-it’s just the start of the Super Bowl. We didn’t prepare very well for that, and it showed.”

Did they think that fans were going to be quiet during the game? They are only going up against some of the loudest fans in the game? I understand that it was a neutral site, but the Seahawks fans were going to do anything to make their presence felt. Just fans at the Super Bowl wanted to yell just because it was the Super Bowl.

That poor start of the game set the tone for the rest of the day and it was a mess.
