The Super Bowl champs usually open up the NFL season. The Seattle Seahawks will likely kickoff the 2014 season on Thursday Night Football. Who will be their opponent though?

The Seattle Seahawks will get to host the festivities and there are some interesting matchups that could start out the season. We already know what teams they will be facing this season, we just are not sure when.

The Seahawks and the San Francisco 49ers play twice a year and could start out the season. They had a memorable playoff matchup in the NFC Championship game and would make for a good matchup to start the year. The two teams always play hard and make for a good game.

The Seahawks and Denver Broncos are also scheduled to meet this year. That is a definite possibility for the schedule makers to start out the year as well. People love to get their fix of Peyton Manning. He opened up the 2013 season and could possibly get the opportunity to do it again in 2014.

The schedule makers are going to make sure the season opens with a boom. I would assume that it will either be the 49ers or Broncos to match up with the Super Bowl Champs to start out the year. My money would be on the Super Bowl rematch.
