Justin Gilbert finished the NFL Combine as the fastest corner in the class. He finished with a 4.37-second 40 time and will be one of the top corners selected in the NFL Draft. Gilbert was already one of the best in the class, but his impressive showing at the NFL Combine could have moved him to the very top.
His combination of size and athleticism will be a huge attraction to some teams. At 6’0, 200 pounds, Gilbert has the size that teams will be looking for to play in the secondary. He also is a great special teams player and can help in the return game.
He is in competition with players like Darqueze Dennard and Jason Verrett for the top corner taken in the draft. He has the athleticism to be a top corner in the draft, but can he put it all together on the field in the NFL.
Gilbert is expected to be selected in the first round of the draft. He will be a player that teams will want to add to their secondary.
