Ike Taylor broke the news for his own signing on twitter. He will remain with the Pittsburgh Steelers for another season. It will be his 12th season with the Steelers.
Taylor was a possible salary cap casualty for the team. He was due a base salary of $7 million for the season and his cap number was around $12 million, but that will all get straightened out with his new deal. He was on the last season of his current contract and the team could have saved $7 million by releasing him. Instead the team worked a new contract for Taylor and he will be spending the rest of his career with the Steelers.
The details on the deal have not been released, but Taylor will remain with the Steelers for another season.
Tyalor has bee nthe starter for the Steelers since 2005. He will be holding down the secondary for a couple more seasons.
