Free agency doesn’t start until 4pm eastern time, but there will be a few deals that we see fly through despite the start time. One of those deals is former Arizona Cardinals WR Andre Roberts signing with the Washington Redskins, per Ian Rapoport.
The Redskins are looking to get more weapons for Robert Griffin III and they will get Roberts to join the team. Roberts will get an opportunity to start with the Redskins roster. He was stuck behind Michael Floyd and Larry Fitzgerald with the Cardinals and needed to find a new home where he could get an opportunity.
His opportunity will come with the Redskins offense. He will have a good quarterback flinging the ball to him and should get him chances to make plays. Roberts didn’t have many good quarterbacks throwing him the ball with the Cardinals. He had a bunch of random quarterbacks in Arizona and when the team finally brought Carson Palmer on, Roberts had to sit behind Michael Floyd on offense. He just hasn’t had a good opportunity to play. This could be his time to shine.
