Demarcus Ware requested that the Dallas Cowboys decide on his future before the start of free agency at 4pm eastern time today, per Ed Werner. Ware is in limbo about his current job status. There have been rumors about the team putting him on the trading block and there also have been rumors of him being on the chopping block. The team is looking to free up some room under the salary cap and Ware just wants an answer on his situation.
Ware has a salary cap number of $16 million and the team would be able to free up over $7 million if they were to release him off of the roster.
Ware would just like to be able to test the waters in free agency with the rest of the free agents. He doesn’t want to get left behind, while other free agents suck the money out of the other teams in the league.
There is no telling what the Cowboys are going to do with the situation. They don’t have to do anything with Ware and they don’t have to fulfill his request, but why play games with him.
