The New York Jets cut Mark Sanchez off of their roster and the “butt fumble” will be looking to jump onto a new roster for the coming season. He will generate some interest aound the league. He won’t be seeing a starting job soon, but he will be aworking to backup someone and hope to get the opportunity to get back on the field soon.
Here are a few teams that could be interested in bringing in the former USC quarterback onto their roster:
Philadelphia Eagles
Chip Kelly could bring the love to the Pac 10/12 with his quarterbacks on the roster. He already has Nick Foles and Matt Barkley on his roster. Why not add Sanchez into the mix to compete for the backup job behind Foles.
St. Louis Rams
The Rams lost their backup quarterback to the Chargers this offseason and need someone to back up Sam Bradford. If Sanchez could step up a little bit, he could provide som competition to Bradford and give him a little nudge for that starting gig.
Cleveland Browns
The Browns still are looking to fill their hole at the quarterback position and they would like to bring a veteran on the roster to give the team some depth. The Browns are expected to make a play for a quarterback in the draft to take over the starting job, but Sanchez could make a run for the starting gig on that roster. I don’t wish this for the Browns organization or for Mark Sanchez. Just seems like something that would end badly.
