The Tennessee Titans are looking for some talented players to add to the front seven, and I think we could see the Titans pulling three talented DEs or LBs in the 2014 NFL Draft this year. New defensive coordinator Ray Horton is looking to run a hybrid 3-4 scheme, so versatility is a big key. The Titans could use players who fill out as solid all-around guys, but they should also look to add a playmaking edge player.
One potential addition at inside linebacker could be Louisville Cardinals prospect Preston Brown, as draft insider Tony Pauline reports that the Titans dined with Brown yesterday and decided to work him out this morning.
Brown would be a solid addition to the Titans linebackers corps, and he is clearly an MLB or ILB at the next level. He ran forty times in the 4.8s at Louisville’s pro day, and he has above-average physical tools. I like him as a downhill run-stuffer due to his quickness and explosion, but he could get exposed in coverage at the next level. Brown has good size at 6’1″, 250 pounds, and he’s best-fit as a 3-4 ILB due to his run defense and style of play. Despite playing with a lot of intensity, he has sound technique and is clearly an explosive run defender. I would compare him to a poor man’s Brandon Spikes.
