Kenny Britt, 25, has agreed to terms on a contract with the St. Louis Rams. Not surprisingly, the contract is a one-year “prove it” contract. The deal makes sense for both parties involved. Mainly because the Rams head coach, Jeff Fisher, is the guy who drafted Britt in the 2009 draft for the Tennessee Titans.

The contract should help motivate Britt, too.

Earlier this month, I wrote an article about potential wide receiver fits for the Carolina Panthers and Kenny Britt was one of the names that I mentioned on the list. I listed him as a possibility because I believe that he still has the skills required to succeed in the National Football League.

He’s young and still has a lot of untapped potential left in the tank. If Jeff Fisher can get the best out of him, Britt has the chance to be a dangerous weapon. He certainly has the size and ability. He just has to use it. I believe that St. Louis is a great place for Britt to revitalize his career.

This signing does more than just provide the Rams with another receiver, though. It also provides them with tremendous flexibility at the number 2 spot in the draft. It’ll be interesting to see which teams are willing to move up for it.
