Former Philadelphia Eagles star wide receiver DeSean Jackson is all over the NFL rumor mill these days with not much else to cover, and whichever team lands Jackson would be getting one of the league’s best playmakers. In Chip Kelly’s offense, Jackson emerged as a true No. 1 wideout, as he was more consistent and hauled in over 80 catches for 1,332 yards and nine touchdowns. The Washington Redskins and Oakland Raiders are seen as the two favorites with the Buffalo Bills also involved, but it looks like we can add two more teams to that list, even if we don’t know who these teams are.
ESPN’s Ed Werder reports that there are two teams that have not been “identified publicly” in “deep negotiations” with the star wide receiver. This is a huge scoop, and it’s pretty much anyone’s guess as to who is deeply involved. Speculation will continue as the rumor mill churns, and I wonder if a contender will surprise us all and swoop in. I mean, wouldn’t it be crazy if a team like the Denver Broncos inked Jackson to a contract?
Anyway, keep a close eye out for any new teams entering the fray, and Jackson has a significant number of teams with mild interest but maybe only a handful of teams with serious interest. Chalk up these two unidentified teams as major players, and I have a suspicion that these are contenders.
