Anthony Barr will visit Jacksonville Jaguars tomorrow

The Jacksonville Jaguars are lining up some high-profile quarterback visits over the next couple of days, as that’s their biggest position of need, even if many people believe that they will wait until the second round to see who falls before addressing it. Derek Carr, Jimmy Garoppolo, Johnny Manziel, and Teddy Bridgewater will visit the Jaguars tomorrow, while UCF star Blake Bortles will be in town on Thursday.
But the Jaguars will also have a top defensive player in for a pre-draft visit tomorrow, as the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport reports that UCLA Bruins product Anthony Barr will be with the majority of the QBs.
I would be surprised if Barr is the pick for the Jaguars with the third overall pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, but he at least has to be in the discussion. Barr is an incredibly explosive athlete who generally wins with pure speed off the edge, but he’s also one of the most raw players in this class and is hit-or-miss. If Gus Bradley and the Jaguars like him enough, though, they could surprise some people and take him. I don’t see that happening, though, especially with one of Jadeveon Clowney, Khalil Mack, or Teddy Bridgewater set to be available there. Those three are better prospects than Barr, though it’s possible the Jaguars will see things differently. Bringing in Barr for a visit is especially important as a step in the evaluation process, and it will be interesting to see if they are higher on him than most.
