The Detroit Lions have had discussions about possibly moving DT Ndamukong Suh before the draft in order to move up, per Scott Bischoff. Suh has a cap number of over $22 million, so there would have to be a discussion on restructuring his deal in order to make something happen. If the Lions were to move up in the draft and select Jadeveon Clowney, they would have a much cheaper player on their defense for the next 5 years.

I understand that the Lions want to move up in the draft, but moving one of the franchise players on the roster is not the way to make that happen.
The Lions have the 10th selection in the draft and will have plenty of options to choose from when they get on the clock. This draft is full of talent and gathering draft picks would be nice, but you would want to combine that talent with Suh.
Suh’s contract is up after the 2015 season and the team will need to re-work his deal and he will command a lot of money in free agency.
