The Atlanta Falcons are going to South Carolina to scout WR Bruce Ellington, but while they are there they are going to make Jadeveon Clowney do a few drills for them as well, per Ian Rapoport. It isn’t technically a “workout” for Clowney, but it sure sounds like a work around the rules.

  • The Falcons want to get as much information on Clowney as possible, since they are a team that has been rumored as a possible trade candidate with the Houston Texans for the first overall spot in the draft.

I am not sure what the Falcons would use to move up that far in the draft to select Clowney, but there first round selection would defintiely be part of the package. Thomas Dimitroff is not shy to make blockbuster trades in the draft ether. He was the GM that pulled off the trade in order to select Julio Jones.

The Falcons might be giving up a lot in order to get Clowney on their roster, but he likely is the best prospect in this draft. Will the Falcons make that move and will it be worth it?
