Oakland Raiders RB Maurice Jones-Drew will have to compete for playing time on offense with Darren McFadden and he is fine with that. He wants to get back on the field and he wants prove that he still is an explosive back. He as dropped his weight to 215 pounds and plans to start the season at 208 pounds. He says that he feels good and wants to prove to everyone that he can still get the job done.

"“I am getting my strength back and my body has really responded,” Jones-Drew said, via CBS.“My goal last year was to show people I was healthy again and finish the season strong. My goal this year is to be explosive again.”"

If Jones-Drew is able to get back to that explosive level that he was with the Jacksonville Jaguars, then the Raiders have found themselves a nice gem in free agency. The Raiders will be hoping for some turnarounds from a few veterans this season. Their new QB Matt Schaub will need to turn things around as well. IF everyone can play up to their potential, then things will be looking pretty.
