New Pick: DeAngelo Hall
2004 Pick: DeAngelo Hall
The Falcons wouldn’t do-over their selection of Hall in 2004, but perhaps they would re-do the trade post-2007 season that sent him to Oakland. Sure, Hall was moody and inconsistent in his first four seasons in Atlanta, but he was still a two-time Pro Bowler who departed the Falcons for less than a first round pick.
Atlanta selects Hall again in this Re-Draft because he’d be even more valuable today as teams pass the ball more and more. The value of a tough, physical corner like Hall has increased, and the Falcons would probably have liked him paired with rookie Desmond Trufant in their 2013 secondary.
As it is now, Hall still has some inconsistency at times in Washington, but he’s been one of their best player on D for some time, and if he remained with the Falcons, he’d be a leader for them, something Atlanta has struggled to find on defense through the draft.
