All the waiting and guessing is finally over, and the Houston Texans are finally on the clock. With that pick, the Texans select Jadeveon Clowney out of South Carolina. Clowney is a beast off of the edge and has the versatility to be able to move back to linebacker. A great pick for the Texans here as they get the chance to bolster up that defense.

The draft has certainly helped the Texans over the past couple of years. They have drafted defensive end J.J. Watt, linebacker Brian Cushing, wide receiver DeAndre Hopkins and defensive back Kareem Jackson in the first round over the past 5 seasons and all four are still on the roster and have important roles on the team. Clowney is expected to follow this trend, of course.

Last season, the Texans were ranked 23rd in rushing defense and Clowney is expected to increase that rank this season. Clowney had 11.5 tackles for a loss last year at South Carolina and the Texans are hoping for the same type of production. They are going to need it as well, especially with Andrew Luck in their division. Expect Clowney to have a huge impact on the Texans 2014 season and a special congrats to you for being selected number 1 overall.
