The St. Louis Rams went with an offensive lineman with their 2nd pick in the draft, and decide to go with the defensive line with the 13th pick by selecting defensive tackle Aaron Donald out of Pittsburgh. The Rams defensive line has just got that much scarier with the addition of the physical Donald.
The Rams defense has to compete with some of the best offenses in the NFL as they play the Cardinals, 49ers and Seahawks twice a year. To be able to compete, they need to have the ability to get to the quarterback. Put Donald along side All-Pro defensive end Robert Quinn and Chris Long and the Rams will have the ability to get to the quarterback on any given play.
Donald is a big, strong presence on the defensive line, and he will thrive under Gregg Williams defensive scheme. He has a high motor and he plays the game with intensity which is something Williams’ looks for in his defense. Watch out NFC West, the Rams defense just got that much better with the addition of Arron Donald.
