With the second pick in the 2014 NFL Draft, the St. Louis Rams select tackle Greg Robinson out of Auburn. Robinson is an amazing pick here for a young and talented Rams team. Quarterback Sam Bradford is headed into a make or break season and Robinson has the ability to help him be successful this year. The Rams are going to need it too, seeing how the team has missed the playoffs every year for the past 9 seasons.
Robinson is a huge mauler that will certainly create running lanes for the surging Zac Stacy. He can also help keep Bradford on his feet, which is very important especially after he tore his ACL last season. Robinson is the first offensive lineman Rams coach Jeff Fisher has selected in the first round in his career, so it is obvious the Rams have a lot of faith in the Auburn sophomore.
Robinson will be tested as he will go up against tough defensive fronts in the NFC West. He will have his work cut out for him, but there is little doubt he will fail this daunting task. He joins Jake Long and Roger Saffold on the Rams line, and it will be interesting to see how the Rams position Robinson seeing how he can play both offensive tackle and guard.
Great pick here for a Rams team, and congrats to you Greg Robinson!
