San Francisco 49ers TE Vernon Davis was talked about as a possible holdout for mandatory minicamp. He is looking to get a contract extension on his current deal. It sounds like he will be at training camp with the team though.

That can put to rest the possibility of him holding out for a new deal. The team can get to work with their stud tight end available on offense. It will be good to have him with the rest of the squad working toward their goal to the Super Bowl.

Davis’s contract ends after the 2015 season and he would love to get an extension on that deal. He had a great season in 2013, finishing with 13 touchdowns and 850 receiving yards. He will be looking to put up those type of numbers again and then can look to extend his deal in this next offseason. He would be more likely to get a new deal with one year remaining on his contract.
