The Seahawks had a few more pieces in place for me” than the Patriots

Former Minnesota Vikings DT Kevin Williams signed with the Seattle Seahawks last week. He wanted an opportunity to win a Super Bowl with his career winding down. His final decision on choosing a team came down to a few teams with the New England Patriots and the Seahawks at the top of the list.

His final decision went to the team that he felt gave him the better opportunity to win it all. The Patriots offered him more money, but he felt that the Seahawks gave him a better chance to get to the Super Bowl.

Here is what he told ESPN:

"The Seahawks “had a few more pieces in place for me” than the Patriots, Williams said. (NESN)"

The Patriots also have solid depth in the middle of their defensive line and that could have influenced his decision as well. He should be part of the rotation in the middle of the defensive line with the Seattle defense. He should be able to contribute more with the Seahwaks, while Vince Wilfork would be the main cog in the Patriots defense.
