Dallas Cowboys QB Tony Romo was on the field for his second preseason action over the weekend and took some hits against the Miami Dolphins. He thought it was nice to take a few hits, but with the team getting back onto the field for practice today, Romo is not on the field to join the rest of his team, per Tim MacMahon.

More from Dallas Cowboys

Romo is recovering from his back surgery and is looking to be healthy for the start of the regular season, but this could be a little snag in the plans. He could use some rest in practice after taking some hits. Hopefully he will get back onto the field to join the rest of his team in practice later in the week.

The team could give him a rest for the final preseason game to keep him fresh. The team should just keep him on the sideline and let Brandon Weeden take the snaps in that final preseason game. There is no need to trot out Romo for that final game. He needs to be fresh for the start of the year.

Fans will be concerned all season when Romo takes hits.
