The Houston Texans have kept their defensive stud on the roster for the next 6 years by agreeing to a deal with DE J.J. Watt. Watt will sign a 6-year, $100 million contract extension that includes $51.876 million guaranteed, per John McClain. That contract will make him the highest paid defensive player in NFL history.

J.J. Watt is the best defensive player in the game and deserves the dough. His presence on the field draws a ton of attention and he still is able to cause havoc in the backfield and knock down passes. With the addition of a few more playmakers on the defensive side of the ball this offseason, the Texans will be looking to dominate teams with their defense.
Watt will be playing with young rookie phenom Jadeveon Clowney this season and the two will be racing to the quarterbacks at the snap. Quarterbacks in the division are going to hate seeing both of them lined up in the trenches against them. Watt will be doing it for another 6 years. They better get used to laying on the ground and getting those passes swatted.
