Well, week one has come and gone. I must say, there were many surprises and upsets this past weekend. It all started with the Seattle Seahawks dominating the Green Bay Packers on opening night, beating them by twenty points. The madness continued when the Miami Dolphins defeated the New England Patriots by two possessions and the Buffalo Bills traveling to Soldier Field and defeating the Chicago Bears in an overtime thriller.

After just one week, there has been a shake up in the Power Rankings. See where your team ranks after the first week of the season.

Number 1: Seattle Seahawks – Last Week 1

Percy Harvin adds a whole other dimension to Seattle’s offense. Oh, and we can’t forget about the defense. They didn’t miss a beat.

Number 2: Denver Broncos – Last Week 2

Despite a late effort by the Colts – the Broncos defense was able to prevail – intercepting a pass from Andrew Luck to seal the week one victory. Peyton Manning missed a few throws, but it’s not something I would read into.

Number 3: San Francisco 49ers – Last Week 6

The 49ers were able to silence all critics with an impressive performance against the Cowboys. The defense looked good and the Kap/Davis connection is in mid-season form.

Number 4: New Orleans Saints – Last Week 4

Even with a loss, the Saints will stay at the four spot. The defense was lackluster; however, you have to give Matt Ryan the praise he deserves.

Number 5: Indianapolis Colts – Last Week 7

Despite the loss, the Colts move up two spots in this weeks rankings. They started off their game against Denver slow, but completely dominated the second half. Right now, they are the second best team in the AFC.

Number 6: New England Patriots – Last Week 3

New England really dropped the ball in Miami. Brady was often under pressure, which resulted in a poor completion percentage on deep balls. They need to clean up their offensive line issues.

Number 7: Green Bay Packers – Last Week 5

Surprisingly, he Green Bay Packers were dominated in every aspect of the game. Much like New England, they need to fix their offensive line issues if they want to stay competitive in the NFC.

Number 8: Philadelphia Eagles – Last Week 8

After a slow start against Jacksonville, the Eagles were able to pick up right where they left off last season. Nick Foles needs to get over his case of the fumbles, though.
