The Onside Kick: NFL Week One Recap
By Ricky Widmer
After a long offseason, the Onside Kick returns to real NFL football games, as the NFL 2014 season kicked off this past weekend. This week on podcast, Ricky Widmer and Dave Oster recap and discuss the first full week of the regular season in the NFL.
Here’s what on tap in the podcast:
- Ray Rice was both cut from the Baltimore Ravens and suspended from the NFL. With the news coming out, did the Ravens handle the announcement well by sending John Harbaugh out to talk to the press instead of the higher ups?
- Both the Dallas Cowboys and New York Giants looked bad in week one. Should either the Giants or the Cowboys think about looking for replacements for the quarterbacks sooner rather than later? Also, are the Giants going to pull another “late Super Bowl run” out of their hat again this season?
- The Minnesota Vikings and Detroit Lions sit atop the NFC North. Are either of these teams for real, or will the Chicago Bears and Green Bay Packers bounce back to retake the division as many have predicted during the offseason?
- The Seattle Seahawks look very impressive in their debut against the Packers. Is Seattle destined for a second straight Super Bowl run?
- The guys also talk about the big performers from week one of the NFL season.
