Week 3: NFL Power Rankings
Number 9: Green Bay Packers (1-1)
My pick to win the NFC has really let me down. After being dominated by the Seahawks on opening night, the Jets took the Packers to the last drive of the game. Rodgers was money; however, the team’s running game has been non-existent during the first two weeks.
Number 10: Arizona Cardinals (2-0)
Carson Palmer’s absence clearly affected the Cardinals offense. Still, they were able to come away with a comfortable victory against the New York Giants. It’ll be tough for them to win the division, but the Cardinals are definitely one of the league’s top teams. Don’t be surprised if the NFC West sends three teams to the playoffs this year.
Number 11: Carolina Panthers (2-0)
It seems as if the loss of weapons at receiver and offensive line are have a minimal affect on the Panthers. Their defense looks even better than last season, which is a scary thought.
Number 12: San Diego Chargers (1-1)
After giving up an eleven point lead last week to the Cardinals, the San Diego Chargers were able to bounce back with a nice win against the defending champs. Offensively, the Philip Rivers/Antonio Gates connection was on target.
Number 13: Baltimore Ravens (1-1)
With all the negative attention on the Ravens, we knew two things were going to happen: they would either rally or collapse. As of now, it seems the Ravens are rallying. The defense returned to form, while Bernard Pierce and Justin Forsett were able to fill the hole left by Ray Rice.
Number 14: New Orleans Saints (0-2)
It’s not over, but they need to win a game. It will be hard to catch the Panthers.
Number 15: Buffalo Bills (2-0)
How about this Buffalo Bills team? Prior to the start of the season, many thought this team would be the bottom-feeder of the league. After two very impressive wins, they were able to prove people wrong. The defense has been dominate and E.J. Manuel has been very efficient.
Number 16: Pittsburgh Steelers (1-1)
Since the start of the second half against the Browns, the Pittsburgh Steelers have been outscored by a total of 50-9 Not a very promising stat.
