Green Bay Packers Bryan Bulaga active today
The Green Bay Packers have received some great news today, as starting right tackle Bryan Bulaga will be back in the lineup after tearing his MCL in Week 1 against the Seattle Seahawks. Bulaga wasn’t even ruled out for the Week 2 game against the New York Jets until later on in the week, so he has progressed much faster than expected, though I’m sure Derek Sherrod’s abhorrent play at right tackle likely exacerbated the need for Bulaga to make a quick return. I mean, Sherrod is one of the league’s worst tackles based on how poorly he played against the Seahawks and Jets in Bulaga’s absence.

Aaron Rodgers and Eddie Lacy can certainly be elated that Bulaga is back to face the rival Detroit Lions, who boast one of the league’s most stout front sevens. Lacy needs better blocking up front, and he has a solid run blocker on the right side back. Stephen Tulloch and DeAndre Levy are two smart linebackers known for their run defense, and they are combining with the uber-talented DT duo of Ndamukong Suh and Nick Fairley to form a run defense that has allowed a league-low 2.5 yards per carry to this point.
In addition to Bulaga, another key member of the Packers is active today in slot cornerback Casey Hayward. With Sam Shields and Tramon Williams playing well thus far, the Packers CBs are playing up to their talent.
