San Diego Chargers add Ladarius Green to injury report

San Diego Chargers No. 2 tight end Ladarius Green was expected to be a breakout star this season after flashing potential last year to back up strong training camp reports in 2013, but that hasn’t materialized isn’t statistical output this season. Green has hauled in just six passes, but he has shown off his playmaking ability by turning them into an impressive 88 yards. That said, we would have expected Green to clear triple-digit receiving yards by this point in the season, but the Chargers simply haven’t been using him much.

  • According to Michael Gehlken of the U-T San Diego, Green has been added to the injury report today, as he was listed as a limited participant with a hamstring injury. Although he still practiced, mid-week downgrades are never a good sign and need to be monitored. Green’s practice status will have to be looked at tomorrow, but he isn’t at risk of missing this week’s game against the Jacksonville Jaguars.

The Jaguars are arguably the worst team in the NFL right now, and you’d have to think that they’ve been the worst team in the league against the pass thus far. That would theoretically present Green with an excellent opportunity, but his snap count is too low for him to be counted on as a factor. That said, I’m sure most of us want to see him utilized more often, because he’s a unique talent and a high-upside TE.
