Oakland Raiders News: James Jones says it’s a ‘must win’, Vincent Brown
With wide receiver Rod Streater on the shelf for 4-5 weeks due to foot surgery, the Oakland Raiders look poised to give new wideout Vincent Brown some more reps. A reunion with the San Diego Chargers is looming on the calendar, and you have to figure that Brown, who once looked so promising for the Chargers organization, will put his best foot forward in that rivalry game.

In today’s mailbag feature, ESPN NFL Nation’s Bill Williamson wrote that he believes Brown will get more snaps in tomorrow’s game against the Miami Dolphins in London. Brown didn’t play much in his Raiders debut against the New England Patriots, so it’s unclear how much more is “more”. Williamson isn’t sure if Brown will play the full game, but it looks like we’ll be able to see how fast the former third-round pick is after multiple injuries.
James Jones is the current leader of the Raiders wide receivers corps, and it would be wise to target the possession guy more often. He sees this week’s game against the Dolphins as a must-win for the Raiders, and I’m sure hot-seat head coach Dennis Allen definitely feels the same way. If the Raiders can’t win, then they’ll fall into an 0-4 hole that will be almost impossible to climb out of.
The former Green Bay Packers receiver said, via CSN Bay Area’s Scott Bair, “To me, it’s a must win. We got a lot of vets on the team and we know the percentages. You never know how the season is going to turn out, but when you go 0-4 it’s hard to make the playoffs. This is a tough league to win in, so to me it’s a must win. We’ve got go out here play our best game. We need to go back home 1-3 before the bye week.”
