Arian Foster Injury: Houston Texans RB expected to play
Houston Texans star running back Arian Foster missed last week’s game against the New York Giants with a hamstring injury after being listed questionable on the injury report, though we didn’t know he was at risk of missing the game until reports surfaced over the weekend. Foster was a game-time call, but he wasn’t really expected to play due to the risk of aggravation. Foster was overworked in the first two weeks of the regular season, as new head coach Bill O’Brien sought to run the offense on the ground in order to minimize veteran QB Ryan Fitzpatrick’s pass attempts.

Foster is healthier now but is still a full-blown game-time call today against the Buffalo Bills. Per sources close to the NFL Network’s Ian Rapoport, Foster is expected to play today after missing last week’s game, and this is great gameday news for Texans fans. Most people have expected him to make his return against the Bills, but hamstring injuries are tricky business, especially since injuries could start to pile up for the veteran RB if the Texans aren’t careful.
Through two games, Foster took 55 carries and turned them into 241 yards, averaging an excellent 120 rushing yards per game with four receptions for 29 yards to boot. He’ll face a very tough run defense today that features the likes of Brandon Spikes, Preston Brown, and Kyle Williams, and it will be interesting to see how many carries he and talented youngster Alfred Blue split.
