Odell Beckham Jr. running and cutting ‘well’

It was once believed that New York Giants rookie wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. would finally make his return last week against the Washington Redskins, but he was inactive despite getting on the practice field on Tuesday. His return to the field was a surprise, and it was an encouraging one even if he only got in a limited practice. Beckham should be out there this week against the Atlanta Falcons, especially since he’s started off the week on the right foot.

  • According to NJ.com’s Jordan Raanan, Beckham Jr. was “running” and “cutting” well at practice today, and he is participating in team drills again. We’ll see what his practice designation is, because Raanan indicates that there’s a possibility he could be a full participant today. I think he’ll get a full practice in later on in the week, but it’s not like the limited/full designation matters if he practices every day this week.

The Giants offense finally woke up in Week 3 against the Houston Texans behind a workhorse performance from Rashad Jennings, and the offense caught fire against the awful Redskins secondary. The Falcons pass defense is just as bad, so a return from Beckham could mean major points for the Giants, who have a talented secondary that can hold up against Matt Ryan and Co.
