2. AFC North: Adjusted Score of 6.700

(Pittsburgh Steelers, Cleveland Browns, Cincinnati Bengals, Baltimore Ravens)

Known as one of the toughest divisions to play in, literally, is the AFC North. The division finds itself ranked as the second greatest division in NFL history for a few reasons. The first is that they boast the Steelers, one of the NFL’s greatest all-time franchises. The second is that the Ravens have packed so much success into only a few years, and the third is the Brown’s greatness in the 1950s and 60s. This division has won eight Super Bowls, with an impressive six coming from the Steelers — they carry this division historically. It has lost another four other Super Bowls. A few of the biggest names to play in the AFC North are Jim Brown, Otto Graham, Terry Bradshaw, Joe Greene, Ray Lewis, Ed Reed, and Anthony Munoz. The Bengals are poised to take control from the Steelers and Ravens as the division’s top team for this season and beyond.

1. NFC East: Adjusted Score of 6.708

(Dallas Cowboys, New York Giants, Washington “Redskins”, Philadelphia Eagles)

The greatest division in NFL history is none other than the NFC East. In terms of greatness (or success) per year, no division can match this historic division. It features four old teams, yet still comes out on top. Of course winning an NFL-high 12 Super Bowls and losing eight more should make it the top division. That’s a ridiculous 20 Super Bowls that this division has participated in. The Eagles are the only team that hasn’t won a Super Bowl, but they have lost two. The success by the teams is matched only by this division’s historic players. Some of the NFC East’s top all-time players include Chuck Bednarik, Reggie White, Sammy Baugh, Sonny Jurgensen, Roger Staubach, Emmitt Smith, Troy Aikman, Sam Huff, and Lawrence Taylor just to name a few. The Eagles seem to be the top team in the division now, but the Cowboys are always hanging around, the Giants are a great organization and the ‘Skins have a young core. Look for this division to keep this title as the greatest in NFL history for quite some time.

The question as to which NFL division is the best all-time has been answered, but you’re still going to say your team’s division is the best, right? Right on, fight the power. Although, this list is subject to change as the NFL continues to evolve in the coming years.
