Rob Gronkowski trusts Tom Brady ‘to the max’

The New England Patriots are reeling after a stunning blowout loss to the Kansas City Chiefs last week on Monday Night Football, and it was a more depressing performance than the game they blew to the rival Miami Dolphins in Week 1 .We’re all left scrambling for reasons, especially when it comes to the precipitous decline in play from star QB Tom Brady. For those of you pointing out his down year in 2013, it’s important to note that he was playing at an elite level when Rob Gronkowski was fully healthy, and he was second in the NFL in WPA. If you take into account the value of first downs, Brady had a fine season and didn’t show any major signs of decline.

He’s been poor this season, and there’s no tip-toeing around that. There is room to argue about how good his supporting cast is, because it’s looked quite incompetent this year. For all the talk of Brady, how about the coaching? Where is the running game? I mean, I look at this offense and just about everyone has sucked this year. Michael Hoomanawanui looks like he barely belongs on an NFL roster (a far cry from his inspiring blocking in 2012), and Nate Solder has struggled while trying to compensate for what can only be described as “porous” blocking around him.

Even Rob Gronkowski has been mediocre as he returns from yet another major injury, and you can only wonder if a fully woken Gronk can help rejuvenate this offense. Gronk was asked how much faith he has in Tom Brady, and he unsurprisingly stated that he has the utmost trust in his QB.

He said, via WEEI’s Christopher Price, that he trusts Brady, “To the max. He’s our QB. He’s the one who leads us…With him, hopefully, we turn things around a little bit.”

I’m sure everyone on the Patriots has 100% trust in Brady, and not trusting him would actually create far more problems. Hopefully we aren’t witnessing the end of one of the greatest players in NFL history, and I’m rooting hard for the guy to stay on top and continue to give his jaw-dropping performances on Sundays (you know, like last year’s regular season comeback against the Denver Broncos or the game-winning TD to Kenbrell Thompkins to down the New Orleans Saints early in the year).
