The Detroit Lions gave a great update on the status of Calvin Johnson today. The update basically gave us absolutely no information at all.
Here is what they gave us:
Basically, if Johnson’s ankle doesn’t get better, he COULD sit for a week and rest it. Well thank you very much for telling me the things that he COULD do!
Johnson is a trooper and will fight to get on the football field. They really should give him a rest for a week if that will make sure that he is better for the rest of the season. Is it better to have him for the coming week at [insert random number here] percent or have him back to “full health” for the rest of the season?
If the team wants to wait, they have 4 weeks until the BYE week comes up. They could bench him the week before and give him a couple of weeks to sit on it, but that would keep him out of the game against the Atlanta Falcons.
