Tennessee Titans quarterback Jake Locker missed last week’s game with a wrist injury, but he’ll be back out there this week after being listed probable on the team’s official injury report. There may have been a chance for Locker to play through the pain against the rival Indianapolis Colts, but that chance was so slim that it was never worth taking. Locker is one of the most injury-prone quarterbacks in the league, and that is one of a number of things keeping people from buying into him as anything more than a bust.

The Cleveland Browns talented secondary will be Locker’s test this week, and we’ll see if he can put together a Week 1-like performance. He looked like a changed man under Ken Whisenhunt when leading the Titans to victory over the Kansas City Chiefs, but he was downright awful in his last two performances, throwing two interceptions in both games and looking wildly inaccurate. Locker’s accuracy has always been an issue, but a vanilla offense seemed to make things better last year. This season is Locker’s final chance to prove his worth, and, so far, he isn’t taking it. Not only does he need to play well, but he needs to show the kind of consistency that franchise QBs must have.
New York Giants wide receiver Odell Beckham Jr. is another young player who is earning the “injury-prone” label, as the rookie wideout hasn’t played a snap this season due to an offseason hamstring injury and subsequent aggravations. Beckham was once expected to return last week, but that didn’t materialize. He is, however, expected to play against the easy Atlanta Falcons defense this week, and it’s a great matchup for the standout WR to make his debut. He can really help open up things even more for a Giants offense that is finally clicking.
OBJ is officially listed questionable on the team’s injury report, and even though he practiced, he is expected to have a limited role in his debut; let’s hope he can make the most of those early snaps.
