The Miami Dolphins should be on a relaxing bye following drama between Ryan Tannehill and Joe Philbin, as they are looking to get rested up before a big Week 6 battle against the Green Bay Packers, when Philbin will reunite with his former boss Mike McCarthy. Unfortunately, Dolphins defensive end Derrick Shelby has not had a relaxing bye week, as he spent his Saturday morning with police officers.

According to the Palm Beach Post’s Andrew Abramson, Shelby was arrested for trespassing and resisting arrest, and Abramson’s post is complete with a mugshot of the 25-year-old Utah product. Abramson reports that Shelby was arrested in Ft. Lauderdale at 2:28 a.m. before being released at 10:28 a.m.
At this point in time, not much is known about Shelby’s arrest or status going forward, and Abramson states that we’ll be getting some more details on the news shortly.
Shelby has recorded an impressive three sacks, seven tackles, and a fumble recovery in four appearances so far this season, but he actually hasn’t done a good job of putting consistent pressure on the quarterback. Still, he’s been able to make plays and is part of one of the league’s best defensive lines. The Dolphins defense has plenty of talent, and they’ll have to show it off against the Packers next week.
